j. CARMEN, born in Florence, Italy in 2008: is a brand for the daring and flamboyant. The brand's first step into the world of high fashion is in the New York City's jewelry market. Each adornment created makes a statement. These one of a kind conversation pieces, spark interest from all those who lay eyes on them. The bangles, necklaces and earrings evoke presence, being full of texture and color.

The jewelry is created from wood and leather. Both mediums are cut into intricate shapes for an aesthetic appeal. Gold, brass and silver chains accentuate the detailing of each piece. I paint each each piece of jewelry by hand. The brush strokes are applied with time and care. Each element is not painted delierately: much freedom is given to allow the hues and textural components to play with one another. That is the beauty of being a creative and creating Art. I allow for an idea to formulate without stringent expectations and build each layer one by one.
